Should The PATRIOT Act Be Repealed?

The PATRIOT Act has been a critical legal foundation of the recent government surveillance of U.S. and foreign communications.

Though signed into law by President Bush in 2001 and renewed by President Obama in 2011 on the grounds of national security, there's an effort in the House to dismantle it. 

There's also a ShiftSpark campaign today to make that happen.

Did you know? Without Rent Stabilization laws, landlords can increase rent dramatically on over 45% of NYC's housing. These laws have been in place since the 1970s and are up for renewal in 2015.

Should New York Loosen Vaccine Requirements?

There's a bill working its way through the New York State legislature which bring California's "philosophical exemptions" to New York. The bill has already been referred to Committee in the Senate but not in the Assembly. However, several Democrats are co-sponsoring a version in the lower house so expect it to end up there soon.
